What is Air Pollution? Causes , Effects and Solution..
  •    Air pollution can be defined as alteration of air that can be characterized by measurements of chemical, biological or physical pollutants in the air. Therefore , air pollution means the undesirable presence of impurities and abnormal rise in some proportion of some constituents of the atmosphere. it of two types:
  •      Visible & Invisible

   CAUSES
Air pollution is caused by presence in the atmosphere of toxic substances mainly mainly produced by the human activities even though sometimes it can be produced from such natural phenomena such as volcanic eruptions, dust storms and wildfire  depleting air quality.
  • Agricultural activities due to use of  pesticides ,insecticides , fertilizers that emit harmful chemicals
  • Waste production mainly because of methane generation in landfills
  • Emission from factories and industries releasing large amount of carbon mono oxide hydrocarbon, chemicals and organic compounds in air.
  • Combustion of fossil fuels like coal and oil  for electricity producing air pollutants like nitrogen and Sulphur dioxide.
                                                                                                               EFFECTS
ON  THE ENVIRONMENT: Air pollution has a major impact on the process of plant evolution by preventing photosynthesis. it also contributes to the formation of acid rain, atmospheric perspiration in the form of rain ,frost, snow ,fog which are released during combustion of fossil fuel and transformed by contact with water steam in the atmosphere.

ON HUMAN HEALTH:Our continual exposure to air piollutants is responsible for the deterioration of human health.air pollution leads to serious health conditions causing allergies, respiratory diseases as well as lungs diseases.

GLOBAL WARMING:ON the top of that air pollution is the major contributor to global warming and climate change.in fact the abundance of carbon dioxide  is one of the cause of green house effect. normally the presence of green house gases are beneficial for the planet because they absorb infra red radiation produced by the surface of the earth.

SOLUTIONS FOR AIR POLLUTION
  • USE PUBLIC MODE OF        TRANSPORTATION  :Encourage people to use more and more public modes of transportation to reduce pollution also try to make use of car pooling.if u and ur friends come from the same locality and have same timings u can use this option to save money and energy.
  • CONSERVE ENERGY:Switch off fans and lights when u are going out. a large no of fossil fuels are burnt to produce electricity.you can save environment from degradation by reducing the large no of fossil fuels to be burned.
  • UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT OF REUSE AND RECYCLE:Do not throw away the items that are of no use to you.for eg; you can use old jars to store cereals and pulses.
